The 1st sovereign high-performance energy-efficient processor
Initiated inside the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium to equip European supercomputers with sovereign hardware, the Rhea1 processor was designed by SiPearl’s R&D teams to deliver computing power and energy efficiency for high-performance computing (HPC) and AI inference workloads.
Currently being manufactured at TSMC, the world’s leading advanced semiconductor factory, Rhea1 will be available for sampling in early 2026.
It will equip JUPITER, the first European exascale (1 billion billion calculations per second) supercomputer.
In a complex geopolitical context, Rhea1 will contribute to Europe’s technological sovereignty for strategic applications in security, defence, medical research, energy, climate and engineering with a reduced carbon footprint.

Discover all the details about Rhea1

The processor dedicated to supercomputing and AI inference
To meet all the requirements for HPC and AI inference workloads, Rhea1 integrates 80 arm® Neoverse V1 cores with 2 Scalable Vector Extension (SVE) units of 256 bits per core, built-in High Bandwidth Memory with 4 stacks of HBM, 4 DDR5 interfaces supporting 2 DIMMs Per Channel (2DPC) and 104 lanes of PCIe Gen5 interface.
Rhea1 is supported by a wide range of compilers, library and tools.
Thanks to both the generous memory capacity and high bandwidth of in-package HBM, it will deliver extraordinary performance and energy-efficiency with an unrivalled byte-per-flop ratio.
Seine Reference Server, a modular solution dedicated to Rhea1
Multifunctional, flexible and versatile, the Seine Reference Server can be used for validation and testing, as a reference design, for software porting and for demonstrations and customer testing.
It is available in two configurations:
- a single Rhea1 processor connecting to up to two GPUs in a single chassis,
- or as a dual socket Rhea1.
Each configuration supports up to two SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) disks and up to two PCIe NICs.
