Download the press releaseSiPearl is joining ETP4HPC, an association that groups together the leading European players for high performance computing technologies.
The members of this major think-tank, created in 2012, are driven by a shared goal: helping ensure Europe’s technological sovereignty by developing Europe’s leadership in the field of high performance computing.
SiPearl has joined the CXLTM Consortium founded by the world leaders Alibaba, Cisco, Dell EMC, Facebook, Google, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Huawei, Intel Corporation and Microsoft.
They are behind Compute Express LinkTM (CXL), the new high-bandwidth, low-latency interconnect protocol between microprocessors and devices that leverages the PCI Express® (PCIe®) 5.0 physical layer infrastructure.
SiPearl will be taking part in the Open Innovation Platform® Ecosystem Forum organised on 26 August by the Taiwanese group TSMC, the world’s leading independent semiconductor foundry. For this online event, SiPearl will be working alongside Arm, the global semiconductor technology supplier, to host a conference on “Accelerating HPC market adoption with Arm Neoverse POPTM IP”.
Download the press releaseSiPearl is announcing the appointment of Frédéric Hannoyer as Chief Operating Officer. This electronics and semiconductor industry executive’s previous achievements include setting up product and service activities and major programs at international and European level.
Download the press releaseSiPearl is announcing the appointment of Craig Prunty as Vice President Marketing and Business Development. Previously Marketing Director for Marvell Semiconductor’s server processors business unit, this high-performance computing market expert is joining SiPearl’s leadership team.
Download the press releaseSiPearl, the designer of the microprocessor for the European exascale supercomputer, is opening its first international subsidiary in Duisburg, in the Ruhr region, in order to build closer connections with its German partners and future clients. Currently a dedicated R&D centre, SiPearl GmbH will also become a regional hub providing support for connected mobility and high performance computing applications. Frank Gorris, who was previously in charge of digital design for several 3G to 5G system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for Intel, will be appointed to head it up in June, supported by a team of highly experienced engineers.
Download the press releaseSiPearl, the company that is designing the high-performance, low-power microprocessor for the European exascale supercomputer, has signed a licensing agreement with Arm, the global semiconductor IP provider, in which SiPearl will use the next-generation high-performance, secure, and scalable Arm Neoverse platform, codenamed “Zeus”.
Download the press releaseYing-Chih Yang (49, Master’s in Electronic Engineering from National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan) is joining SiPearl’s leadership team as Chief Technical Officer.
With his deep expertise in complex system-on-chip development, Ying-Chih Yang will be the lead architect for the high-performance, low-power microprocessor developed by SiPearl within the EPI consortium to secure Europe’s technological sovereignty and independence on the strategic markets for high performance computing, artificial intelligence and connected mobility.
SiPearl, the designer of the microprocessor for the European exascale supercomputer, has been awarded €6.2m of support from Europe under the Horizon 2020 programme. These funds are enabling Philippe Notton, the company’s founder, to launch its development with solid foundations in place. To achieve the goal to release its first range of microprocessors on the market by 2022, SiPearl is preparing to carry out a significant round of fundraising alongside this.
Download the press releaseCreated by Philippe Notton, SiPearl is the company that is bringing to life the European Processor Initiative consortium project, designing the high-performance, low-power microprocessor for the European exascale supercomputer.
Download the press releaseSiPearl is at CES 2020 from January 7 to 10, 2020.
